Sofia Menar Filmfest to display Iranian short films

The 9th Sofia Menar Film Festival in Bulgaria is set to screen two Iranian short films.

The 9th edition of the Sofia Menar Film Festival in Bulgaria has been scheduled to screen two Iranian short films.

The festival’s website recently announced that ‘Track’ by Reza Golchin and ‘Angels Are Dead’ by Sahar Khoshcheshman will go on screen at the Short Films selection 2017 later this month.

The 4-minute ‘Track’ shows how some students make a pathway to school in the mountains of Talesh in northern Iran. It will be screened on January 16 and 24.

The 14-minute ‘Angels Are Dead’ is about some friends who are always there for each other. The friendship cannot be ignored even if they live in separate worlds. The film will go on screen on January 19 and 25.

Sofia MENAR Film Festival makes Bulgarian audiences familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world, the website of the festival wrote.

The program of Sofia MENAR Film Festival presents the best of Middle East and North Africa cinema productions, including feature films, documentaries and short projects.

The event is slated for January 12 – 29, 2017.
